How To Generate Traffic Through Article Marketing

Writing articles for article marketing is a good way to get traffic to your website. Articles provide information to your audience and allow you to show your expertise. By posting your articles in article directories, you can generate traffic to your site and also help create back links to it. The main keys to article marketing are to write a high quality content article, create a good authors resource box to highlight you and your site and to submit it to several article directories for maximum publicity.

A good targeted article will get read with many page views. So write an article that will be read by many. Here are 5 important factors to consider when writing an article:

1) Writing on what you know is a pre-requisite to good quality content. If you don’t know enough about a particular topic, please do more research.

2) If you want people to read your article, make sure that it is interesting. Best is to write about something your target audience wants to know to guarantee article viewership. If there is a question that you are often asked or something that is often misunderstood in your field, then that makes a great topic. Solve a problem your target audience has through your article.

3) Be specific and informative. Provide easy to follow pointers. Presentation styles to achieve this is with a “Top 7 or Top 10 tips” or a “How to” article with bulleted steps.

4) Make your article keyword rich. This does not mean you load it with keywords, but rather that you try to use keywords naturally throughout the article. Most search engines now avoid listing pages with unnatural keyword use, but they still reward good keyword usage. So it is important that you define some keywords and make sure they are used regularly throughout your article. Keywords are important as they will be exactly how your target audience is going to search and find your article.

5) Don’t put readers off with bad English, grammer or spelling. This may sound basic, but there are many articles that do not even fulfill this requirement.

Once you have written your article, focus on the author’s resource box. This is the area at the bottom where you tell about you and you advertise your site. Use short sentences that grab attention. Do not sell here – your site will do the sales pitch. The author’s resource box is meant to entice your readers for the click through to your site.

Lastly, you need to give your article high visibility by publishing your article on your site and also, submitting it to various article directory sites. For article marketing to produce good results, try to focus on newsletters or directory sites that will reach your target audience. Look into the content before submitting. As article submission to directories can be time consuming, it is best to either use a software to help automate or to use article submission services for this process. Compared to manual submissions, these will ensure that your articles get posted on hundreds to thousands of sites automatically, with the least amount of time wasted.

In no time, after posting a highly targeted content article, you will find that there are many sites linking back to your site or article page. Through article marketing, you have not only generated traffic to your site via the resource box, but created links back to your site for higher ranking on the search engines.

How to find your natural keywords from you blog post and convert it to an article.

Here's a tip to find your natural keywords for your articles.

The situation is this: you write naturally and normally on your blog. Often, when you finish, you have well over 500 or 750 words - perfect for an article or several.

The next step is to find an article which reflects keywords people naturally use - so they can find your article quickly. Since you've already ready written your soul into this, and it's exactly like you would talk to a person in front of you. You don't want to have to edit various paragraphs to get some keywords into play.

The solution is simple - use adwords.google.com - and this works only as you have individual webpage addresses (as blogspot does). You type in the exact name of that page, hit the "Get keywords" button and voila': all the keywords associated with that page are now exposed for your use.

At this point, you can then use these keywords to make a new article title (which you search for to finalize) and can even modify your blog post title so people can find your blog post more easily.

Now, interestingly, you can also then use these keywords as tags, labels, etc. Which in turn enable people to find your pages and your articles more easily.

I've just found a tool (which I'm evaluating) which claims to be able to scrape a site for an article. Now you can take earlier articles (blog posts) and then post them to a few hundred article directories, all with key search terms ready for you to incorporate.

All progress toward earning a great income online through article marketing - all from home.

(I wrote the above as a blog entry, let's see if it worked out... )

Update: Google Keywords found the following groups of keywords - blog, money, making money, earn money, money making idea, making money online, plus miscellaneous ones - napoleon hill, audio blogger, adwords software, adwords.

So a sample article title might be "How to earn money online through Google adwords - by using your blog and not spending a dime."

Searching finds that such a title doesn't exist. So I would be able to drop that into my article submission program and let it roll. Provided my bio linked to a relevant product, I'd be set for incoming clicks - and I didn't have to write from the keywords, I just had to let the keywords show themselves.

Now this doesn't take you into the niche keyword world, which is much more profitable, but that is just another research route to roll in on.

(And the number of words above - 411, plenty for an article. Nice.)

Google Adsense: How to Apply for the Program and Important Info on Paying Taxes

How to Apply to the Google Adsense Program

Applying for a Google Adsense account is quick and easy for any interested webmaster. Just point your browser to www.google.com/adsense and click on apply.  Click on the drop down arrow under account type and select whether you’re an individual or business.  If you’re not sure which one to choose, click on the question mark to the left. Next, select your country or territory.

Under website information, it asks for your primary URL.  If you have your own website, list it here.  If you are using a blogging site such as writingup.com or bloggingparty.com that URL goes here.

Select your website’s primary language. Google adsense supports Chinese (simplified), Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

Select the product you want on your pages.  Adsense for Content means you will have advertising targeted to the content on your pages.  For instance, if you write about flooring, you might have carpet ads on your page.  Adsense for Search is for you to add a Google search box to your pages.  To maximize your Google Adsense earnings, you will want to have both.

After that, it’s just the regular contact information and you’re all set.  You should receive an email in 2 or 3 days letting you know if your application is approved.

Do I Have to Pay Taxes on My Google Adsense Earnings?

Google Adsense is required to collect tax information from those who participate in the program. If you’re a business, you’ll need to put your EIN number on your application.  If you’re an individual, all you’ll need is your social security number.  If you don’t have that information when you initially sign up, you can still apply for the Google Adsense program.  But be advised that Google Adsense will withhold payments to you until they receive your tax information.

While Google does not withhold taxes or provide any tax advice, they will send you a 1099 once your earnings reach a certain amount.  Of course, if you are a Non-US business and have no activity in the United States, you will not need to provide this information.  For more tax information regarding the Google Adsense program, visit the Google Adsense Support site.  For other tax-related questions or concerns, you can log onto www.irs.gov.

Google Adsense: How Much Money You Can Make and URL Channels Explanation

How Much Money Can I Make With Google Adsense?

How much do you want to make?  How hard do you want to work?  And how much time do you want to spend working the Google Adsense program?

These are the questions you must ask yourself in order to answer that question.

Look at it this way: how many business opportunities come your way where the only requirement is hard work and the time it takes to work hard?  Not many.  Almost any business venture requires some kind of start-up money.

If  your total earnings is showing 0.00 after a week, not to worry.  Keep reading and learning and working.  If however, you’re still showing 0.00 after a month, it may be time to implement some of those optimization tips you’ll find on the Google Adsense Support Site.  Play around with the placement of the ads on your site.  Consider changing the colors.  Look again at the content. Is it interesting?

As with any other business, with the Google Adsense program, the sky is the limit. Work hard. Work smart. Have fun.  After all, you’re the boss.

What Are URL Channels and How to Organize Them in Google Adsense

URL Channels allow you to view detailed information about the performance of your  Adsense for Content pages.

Suppose you have a blog at writingup.com and you also have a blog at bloggerparty.com. It might be interesting and profitable to track which one is getting more clicks.  Log in to your Adsense account and click on Adsense for Content.  Scroll down until you see Channels and click on manage channels.  You may need to scroll up when the next page loads.  Under Manage URL Channels you would type writingup.com and click on Create New Channel.  You will immediately see writingup.com in the Active URL Channels dialogue box  Now type in bloggerparty.com in the same channel text box and again click on Create New Channel.  You now have two channels and you will be able to track your progress on each channel.  You can view channel reports from the Advanced Report page under the Reports tab.  Choose Adsense for Content, choose the date range and then select the Channels Data radio button. Choose any number of active channels by holding down the CTRL key. Next click on Display Report.  It’s as easy as that.
